I need to stop posting things at 1 in the morning
Looking at my collection of Melis (there are five versions of her total, scroll back a bit to find the compilation picture), I decided that I wanted some more. Actually, the exact mental picture I had was "Melinoe multiplying and multiplying into dozens of random, increasingly weirder alternates of herself; cut to Eury and Epi staring in vague horror, because they SOOO did not sign up for that."
Things I've decided about the one I've affectionately nicknamed "Mouth":
-Probably kills people. Almost definitely kills people. Half of the Melinoes are murderers so I mean
-Kills people really apathetically though. Just kindave a thing to do to pass the time.
-She only talks through her second mouth. For the record, she CAN talk through her actual mouth, but it's easier to talk through the middle one.
-May or may not be another mouth on her stomach running along the color seam on her body, THAT one's vertical.
Things about Mel2, who've I've affectionately nicknamed "Eyes":
-she probably manages not to bump into anything at all.
-Why does she bleed red blood instead of gold ichor? No one knows. The other Melinoes suspect a possibility that she's been putting /mortal blood/ on her eye wounds for no goddamn reason what the HELL
-She isn't actually blind but she might as well be. She hallucinates everything and doesn't see anything the way it's supposed to look.
-Her eyes were self-gouged, of course, because they weren't working right, as mentioned above. Physically removing her eyes didn't fix her perception problem at all, and now she has no eyes to match.
-Clingy. Physically clingy. Meli and OrigiMel are purposely designed as opposites (fucking DUH) and one of the things I've played with between them is physical contact-- OrigiMel had a thing where she hated hated HATED being touched (does anyone even remember that anymore? it was like 4 years ago lmao) and Meli now is very, VERY snuggly with her family&friends. That's a deliberate balance. So there's a whole bunch of Melinoes who are either aloof or clingy, and of course the creepy bleeding eyeless one is a snuggler
-All the Melinoes have the same mental maturity but not all of them reflect it (Meli acts more childlike than OrigiMel ever did)-- Mel2 is also more childlike
-Also probably kills people. Whoops.
i have crayon brushes on Sai (they're my FAVE by the way, I completely shaded that drawing of Rane w/them hghghghgh) which are perfect for imitating the drawing style of children
anyway yeah all versions of Melinoe coexist simultaneously in her head, including Mel1-4 I've just designed. so actually ty and bel are probably really familiar with all of them?? yeah.
of course Meli knows what they all look like and act like, they're all herself.
Finally, Mel3b's shtick is that she's everything Mel3 is not: her view on things is that she's aware of the evils other versions of her have done, but she has hope that maybe tomorrow will be the day nothing happens, maybe tomorrow will be better.
Essentially, the pessimist and the optimist.
So, what's special about them? Well, as most Melinoes tend to express, these two are alternatively good and evil. Specifically, the good and evil forms of each other. So, which one is which?
Good question. No one knows. /They/ don't know which one of them is supposed to be the good one or which is supposed to be the evil one. There IS an answer (I know it, I'm keeping it a secret), but they're both ambiguous about it. Is the pessimist, always thinking the worst will come, the evil one? Is the optimist, hoping for the best, the good one? Or is the pessimist the good one, wishing evil wouldn't be caused, and the optimist the evil one, deluding herself into thinking nothing's wrong?

also coloring Meli's colors on the opposite sides is REALLY WEIRD
